Stewardship is a concept that goes beyond money—it’s about how we manage all the resources God has entrusted to us. Whether it’s our time, talents, or treasures, we’re called to use them wisely for His glory.
The Bible has much to say about stewardship. In Matthew 25:14-30, Jesus tells the Parable of the Talents, where a master entrusts his servants with different amounts of money. The servants who invested their talents were praised, while the one who buried his was rebuked. This story reminds us that God expects us to use what He’s given us, not hide it away.
When it comes to finances, the Bible encourages generosity. Proverbs 3:9 says, “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.” Giving back to God through tithes and offerings is an act of worship and trust. It’s a way of acknowledging that everything we have comes from Him.
Stewardship also applies to our time and talents. Ephesians 5:15-16 urges us to “be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity.” This means using our time intentionally, whether it’s serving in the church, spending time with family, or sharing the gospel with others.
Finally, stewardship is about perspective. It’s recognizing that we’re not owners but managers of God’s resources. When we live with this mindset, we experience the joy of partnering with God in His work. So take a moment to reflect: How can you be a better steward of what God has given you?
